About this printable 9x9 Go board
This printable Go board from PrintablePaper.net (Savetz Publishing) is a 9x9 grid, the size beginners and quick games use, with 81 black and white stones to cut out or remove with a hole punch. It fits on a single Letter page.
Go is about 2,500 years old and still played in its original form. Two players take turns placing stones on the intersections to surround territory and capture enemy groups. Beginners should start on 9x9 and move up as games stop feeling cramped. Our Go rules page covers liberties, capture, ko and scoring.
How to use it
- Print on card stock.
- Punch out the stones, or use buttons or beans in two colours.
- Black plays first, one stone per turn on an empty intersection; stones with no free neighbouring points are captured.
- Two passes in a row end the game. Count territory plus captures.
