About Zombie in My Pocket
Zombie in My Pocket is a solo game by Jeremiah Lee and one of the best-known free print-and-play games, winner of the 2010 Golden Geek award for best print-and-play game. You are trapped in a house as the dead rise, and the only way to stop them is to find a zombie totem in an evil temple and bury it in the backyard graveyard before midnight.
The modular board of house and garden tiles, combined with a small deck of development cards, makes every game different. The Zombie in My Pocket print and play file on BoardGameGeek is a revised package with updated art and graphic design by Kwanchai Moriya. A separate boxed version for 1 to 8 players was later published by Cambridge Games Factory; this page is the free solo one.
How to play in one minute
- Start in the house with the first tile. Keep the indoor and outdoor tiles in separate shuffled piles.
- Move through doors into new rooms. Each time you enter a new tile, draw a development card for the current hour.
- The card tells you what happens: zombies attack, you find an item (a machete, a golf club, a chainsaw…) or an event changes the situation.
- Fight zombies, lose health from the ones you cannot handle, and run away when you must.
- Find the totem in the evil temple, then reach the graveyard and bury it before midnight to win. If your health runs out or the clock strikes twelve, the zombies win.
