About this printable Six Men’s Morris board

This printable Six Men’s Morris board from PrintablePaper.net (Savetz Publishing) gives you the board, 6 black and 6 white pieces to cut out, and the rules, on two black-and-white Letter pages. It is one of four morris boards from the same publisher; the best known is Nine Men’s Morris.

Six Men’s Morris uses two nested squares and six pieces each. It was popular in medieval Europe and plays faster and tighter than the nine-piece game. All the morris games share one idea: get three pieces in a line, called a mill. Our Nine Men’s Morris rules page explains the family in detail.

How to use it

  1. Cut out the pieces, or use coins and buttons in two colours.
  2. Start with an empty board and decide who goes first.
  3. Take turns placing one piece on any empty point.
  4. Once all pieces are placed, slide one piece per turn to an adjacent empty point.
  5. Each new mill removes an opponent’s piece; a player down to two pieces loses.
