About Dracula’s Feast

Dracula’s Feast is a deduction party game for 4 to 8 players by Peter C. Hayward, with Edward Gorey-inspired art by Tania Walker, published by Jellybean Games after a Kickstarter in October 2016. Dracula has invited the townsfolk to dinner and a crowd of monsters has crashed the party. Everyone holds a unique guest card with its own ability (Alucard must claim to be Dracula, the Werewolf accepts every dance, Van Helsing wins by naming Dracula alone), and one guest lies face down in the middle as the Mystery Guest. Work out who everyone is and accuse them all correctly to win.

This is the first edition, now sold out; Dracula’s Feast: New Blood is the revised second edition, and Night of the Mummy a standalone sequel. The original is still worth printing: 13 guests instead of 10, rules in four extra languages, and a game that runs 10 to 15 minutes for ages 10 and up. Jellybean Games hosts the files free on its print-and-play page; they carry a plain copyright notice, so the download button goes there.

How to play in one minute

  1. Choose one more guest than there are players, always including Dracula, and lay out their accusation cards. Each player takes a Yes and a No whisper card. Put one random guest (never Dracula) face down as the Mystery Guest and deal the rest.
  2. On your turn do one thing. Query: ask a player if they are a specific guest; they answer by secretly passing a whisper card, and must be honest unless their card says otherwise.
  3. Dance: ask a player to dance; if they accept you secretly show each other your cards, if they refuse your turn ends.
  4. Accuse: announce it, reveal your card and place an accusation card in front of every other guest, including the Mystery Guest. Each player passes a whisper card; shuffle them and reveal.
  5. All Yes: you win. Any No: play continues, and the whisper cards are reshuffled and redealt. Several guests also have shortcuts to victory, so read the abilities.
