About Deep Space D-6
Deep Space D-6 is a solo dice game by Tony Go. You captain a small starship on patrol that answers a distress call and warps straight into a trap. With the help of your crew you must survive until a rescue fleet appears. It started as an entry in the 2015 BoardGameGeek Solitaire Print and Play Contest, was nominated for the 2015 Golden Geek award for Best Print & Play Board Game, and later became a boxed game from Tau Leader Games.
The original print-and-play files are still free on BoardGameGeek, uploaded by Tony Go himself (you need a free BGG account to download). His note on the file says this is the contest version, not a copy of the retail game, which adds fixes, more threats and three more ships. It is a quick, tense dice puzzle for solo players aged 10 and up and plays in about 30 minutes.
How to play in one minute
- Set out the ship board, shuffle the threat cards and put your crew dice next to the ship.
- Each turn, roll your available crew dice. Each face is a crew role, and some results lock dice up or send them to the infirmary.
- Assign crew to stations to act: fire on enemy ships, repair the hull, recharge shields, treat the wounded and deal with threats on board.
- New threats arrive from the deck and activate on die rolls, damaging your hull or tying up your crew.
- Survive the whole threat deck to win. If your hull is destroyed, or your whole crew is out of action, you lose.
