About the Bible Escape Room
This DIY escape room by Mary of My Party Games is built around the miracles performed by Jesus. A backstory card sets the scene, seven clues and puzzles follow, and the last one opens a final message. Every puzzle revolves around the miracle stories, so it also works as a lively review after a lesson.
The author made it for all age groups and suggests playing it at home, at church, in a Bible study group or in a classroom. A team of 3 or 4 players works best; for more people, print two or three copies of the clues and run several teams. Everything is free for personal use, and the post includes a tips sheet and full answer keys for the leader.
How to play in one minute
- Print the backstory on A4 and the seven clue sheets, and prepare the clues that need cutting.
- Hand the backstory to the players. Give them the other clues one by one, or hide them around the room for a harder game.
- Clue 2 comes with a rhyme to decode; clue 3 is a cut-up sheet to put back in order; clue 4 is written in Braille across two hidden sheets.
- Clue 5 needs two sheets, one of them cut into pieces with holes; clue 7 is printed once per team.
- The team that solves all seven clues reads the final message. Share tips if a team is stuck.
