About Mission Unknown
Your kids stumble upon an abandoned spacecraft hidden in a quiet village. Inside are alien artefacts, planetary riddles and a constellation map that points to an unknown destination. Their job is to solve all three challenges and work out where Mission Unknown was heading.
This is the free game from Escape Room Geeks, a small studio that sells print-at-home escape room kits. It is designed for ages 7 to 12: younger children (5 or 6) can play with an adult, and the publisher says 13-year-olds still enjoy it. It works for a birthday party of 2 to 5 children, a family night, or a classroom split into teams. The kit is free but delivered by email: you enter an address on the page and the download link is sent to your inbox.
How to play in one minute
- Enter your email on the page, download the PDF and print it (about 5 to 10 minutes of setup).
- Read the storyline aloud and set a timer; the publisher suggests 45 minutes.
- Challenge 1: decode the alien symbols on the artefact using the guidebook.
- Challenge 2: answer riddles about planets of the solar system to unlock the next step.
- Challenge 3: connect the dots to form constellations and match them to the star map. The three answers combine into the final destination.
