About the Halloween Scavenger Hunt for Kids
Chrissy, who writes Fun Loving Families, lives in a neighbourhood that goes all out for Halloween, and this hunt turns the usual walk past the decorations into a game. There are two sheets. The preschool version is pictures only, so pre-readers can play. The version for older kids and tweens lists 23 sights to find: a BOO sign, a skeleton climbing out of the ground, a hanging ghost, witch legs, a Grim Reaper, caution tape, gravestones, a giant spider web, a zombie gnome and so on.
Play it as a family stroll on Halloween Eve, or send older children out in teams to find the most items, taking photos as proof. Both PDFs are direct downloads on the post, free, and each sheet carries the line “free for personal use”.
How to play in one minute
- Download the sheet that matches your children’s age and print one per player or per team.
- Give everyone a pen (and a flashlight if you go after dark).
- Walk or drive around the neighbourhood and tick each decoration you spot.
- Teams: set a time limit and photograph each find for verification.
- The most ticks when you get home wins; everyone gets a treat anyway.
What’s in the PDF

- Colour layout; the text list prints fine in black and white.
