About the Unfair ABDW expansion
ABDW is the first expansion for Unfair, Joel Finch’s theme-park building card game, named after its four theme packs: Alien, B-movie, Dinosaur and Western. 2am Gameworks offers it as a full print and play for personal use, with art by Mr Cuddington, Yorgo Tsalamanis and Naomi Robinson and card backs by Nicole Castles. Each 57-card pack shuffles into the shared decks like a base pack, so you can mix old and new themes freely.
The packs add systems, not just cards. Aliens pay you in Alien Influence, a second currency that buys alien technology, scores 2 points per token and gets staff abducted. The B-movie pack switches on panorama scoring for attractions whose art forms one wide scene. Five new Game Changers, such as Building Insurance, tune how much damage players can do. You need the base game or its print and play, and the 14+ age applies.
How to play in one minute
- Set up Unfair as usual with one theme pack per player, from the base game or this expansion. With new players, the rulebook suggests Western and Pirate for two.
- Read each pack’s Theme Overview card; its extra rules stay active all game.
- Play the normal eight rounds: events, three Park actions each, guest income, cleanup.
- Attractions marked with Alien Influence pay tokens instead of coins, and staff carrying a token are dismissed and shuffled back into the deck at cleanup.
- Score as usual, plus 2 points per Alien Influence token and any panorama bonuses.
