About the Easter Scavenger Hunt Clue Cards
Kimberly McLeod of The Best Ideas for Kids wrote two versions of this Easter morning hunt so the weather cannot spoil it: an indoor set that sends children to the cutlery drawer, under the sink and where the shoes live, and an outdoor set that starts at the doorbell and works around the garden. Each set is 12 rhyming clue cards, numbered so you know the order, and the last card leads to the basket or a bigger prize.
The clues are deliberately generic, and two outdoor cards have a blank to fill in with something from your own yard (a shed, a vegetable patch, a basketball net). Make it harder for older children by hiding cards inside rather than on top of the named spot. Both PDFs are direct downloads at the bottom of the post, no signup needed.
How to play in one minute
- Download the indoor or outdoor PDF, print it and cut out the 12 cards.
- Hide card 2 at the place card 1 describes, card 3 where card 2 points, and so on; the prize goes where card 12 points.
- Hand card 1 to the children on Easter morning.
- They read each clue, run to the spot and find the next card; add a small treat at each stop if you like.
- The hunt ends at the basket. Add your own extra cards before the last one to make it longer.
